Hamptonne Country Life Museum is the result of a partnership involving a number of different island heritage organisations. This substantial farm complex was bought by The National Trust for Jersey in 1987 with the financial assistance of the States of Jersey and the restoration work was co-ordinated and carried out by the Jersey Heritage Trust, funded by the Société Jersiaise. Site Guide

  • A range of important farm buildings which reflect the changing architectural styles in Jersey over the last 4 centuries
  • Outbuildings including stables, a bakehouse and farm labourer’s accommodation, restored to show how they would have looked when first built
  • The cider barn, containing an apple crusher and twin-screw apple press which are used each October to produce cider
  • The orchard, woodland, wildlife pond, wildflower and sensory gardens, shop and café
  • The popular Perpetual Living History programme, where re-enactors bring the site to life through role play, including demonstrations of bonnet-making, spinning and bread-making
  • Guided tours and a range of on-site farm animals

Hamptonne is open daily from 18 Match to 3 November 10 am to 5 pm.

Free entry for National Trust for Jersey members, and 20% discount for all other National Trust members (UK, Australia, etc.)
