  Volunteering

If you have some spare time and would like to be more involved in the work of the Trust then why not consider volunteering. The Trust has lots of different opportunities where you can help support its work and this can either be on a regular or irregular basis. Without volunteers the Trust would not be able to open sites such as Le Moulin de Quétivel or manage The Elms walled garden.

So why not review the opportunities below and discover a way of actively participating in caring for Jersey’s heritage ?

Le Moulin de Quétivel

The mill is open from May to September and is totally manned by volunteers. If you have a morning or afternoon available every two weeks and would like to assist in the shop and provide information to our visitors then please contact our mill volunteer co-ordinator, Karen Evans, on 01534-483193.

The Elms Organic Walled Garden

The Trust is has restored the walled garden at The Elms. This organic garden is used to grow local trees, wild flowers, heritage vegetables and a small orchard. If you would like to help with the garden, then please contact the Trust office on 01534 483193.

Educational Officer

The Trust is hoping to develop and implement an educational programme in order to establish key links with the island’s schools. If you have an educational background and would like to assist with this new development then please call, the Trust’s Chief Executive, Charles Alluto, on 01534-483193.

Jersey Conservation Volunteers

Together with Men of the Trees, Société Jersiaise, and Action for Wildlife the Trust has helped to re-establish the Jersey Conservation Volunteers. If you enjoy undertaking practical conservation work in respect of Jersey’s natural environment then why not consider helping with one of our tasks. For more information please view our task programme or contact the Trust office, on 01534 483 193.

Trust Events

The Trust organises a number of events each year for its members and the general public. If you are able to commit yourself to helping us at one event annually, whether it be collecting tickets, helping with the teas or setting up the event, then please call the Trust office, on 01534-483193.

Heritage Open Day

Each year the Trust opens approximately 20 historic buildings free to the public. This event harnesses an enormous amount of voluntary support and last year over 4,300 visits were recorded to the various sites. If you would be willing to help us during Heritage Open Day either by acting as a guide, helping with refreshments or being a car parking attendant, then please call the Trust office, on 01534-483193.

Your support is much appreciated and we look forward to hearing from you.
