THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR JERSEY
Patron HRH The Prince of Wales

  Campaigns

The Trust regularly reviews planning applications so as to prevent historic buildings and areas of natural beauty from being destroyed through unsuitable development.

Over the years, the Trust has contributed directly to the safeguarding of several sites (e.g. St Ouen’s Bay) and buildings (e.g. La Rocco Tower and Hamptonne). The Trust was also involved in calling for an Island Plan with designated zones to protect the countryside.

More recently, the Trust has been instrumental in campaigning for the protection of Plemont headland.

The Trust’s position will be considerably strengthened if more people wrote in support of the Trust’s stance to either the Department of Environment or the relevant politicians.
