Plémont Update 2007
Dated: January 2007
Following the submission of 10,370 signatures to the Island’s Chief Minister, Frank Walker, the Trust was assured that the Island’s Ministers would explore all possible options for safeguarding the headland. A report has subsequently been prepared by the Property Holdings Department outlining several future options for the coastal site. This followed consultation with all the parties involved including the National Trust for Jersey. The report is due to be considered by the Ministers after which a number of proposals will be placed before the States for their consideration and debate.
The Trust sincerely hopes that the petition has clearly demonstrated to members of the States an overwhelming level of public support for the preservation of Plémont and that every effort will made to secure the future of this important coastal headland.
