Soon after the Trust was founded it was decided to seek public support for the acquisition of a small but beautiful area of coastline at Le Saie in St Martin. Through an appeal in the Evening Post the purchase price of £300 was successfully raised and the area safeguarded forever. Today the area is a valuable woodland habitat with oak, wild cherry and elder together with a variety of flora including wild daffodil, wood sorrel and bluebell.
